CZM LR75 Drilling Rig

Drilling Equipment

Description

The LR75 represents a versatile medium-sized model within CZM’s Long Reach series, expertly mounted on a CAT 330 Next Gen with a variable undercarriage. This rig boasts a specially designed boom equipped with two lift cylinders, delivering increased torque and crowd force when used with interlocking Kelly bars, making it highly effective for drilling in rock and hard soil. For operations in softer soils, Round Friction bars are available to enhance production. The long reach configuration of the LR75 is ideal for a variety of applications, including constructing sound barrier walls, installing transmission lines and utilities, drilling on steep slopes, and accessing holes in challenging locations.

Benefits and Features

Base:

The LR75 is built upon the new Cat 330 Next Gen, a purpose-built machine powered by a fuel-efficient U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final C7.1 ACERT engine. The rig is equipped with CAT Vision Link, which provides wireless management monitoring of machine operations and maintenance data, offering insights into location, hours, fuel usage, idle time, event codes, and maintenance schedules.

Undercarriage:

The undercarriage of the LR75 is a Caterpillar variable model VH4400/4230/700, reinforced with an H style frame that provides a stable and adaptable base for the rig’s operations.

Mast:

A reinforced mast constructed from high resistance steel Weldox 700 gives the LR75 the strength needed to withstand the demands of various drilling projects.

Main Winch:

The main winch system features a special groove for improved cable winding and extended cable life. It includes a press-roller and offers two gears for a balance of high speed and significant pulling force. The winch operates with automatic gear shifting for smooth, high-production drilling and includes an automatic down-the-hole winch stop. During crowd operations, the winch operates freely, with both hydraulic and mechanical brakes for safety. The cabin’s display of hydraulic pulling force measurements keeps the operator fully informed.

Rotary:

The LR75’s rotary is built for durability, with two slewing bearings at the top and bottom, and a robust pinion and main gear. It includes an anti-cavitation and anti-shock system to prolong the life of the hydraulic motors. A single group of Hydraulic Motor / Planetary Gear ensures high torque, high speeds, and longevity. The cooling system for hydraulic motors and gearboxes maintains optimal performance. A power-shift feature allows for a high spin-off speed of 120rpm, facilitating efficient soil discharge. With three operational and spinoff speeds, the rotary is optimized for both high torque and rapid speeds. The operator can easily monitor torque via the hydraulic measurement display in the cabin.

Cab:

The cab of the LR75 is designed for operator comfort and safety, featuring an AM/FM Radio, air conditioning, heating, and ROPS certification with top protection. An LCD monitor connects to the engine and hydraulics computer, providing a comprehensive diagnostic system.

The LR75 drilling rig, with its Standard Mast and Long Mast options, is a versatile and powerful solution, offering unparalleled performance for foundational drilling projects that require precision, power, and the ability to adapt to various site conditions.
